Brief Description

ECS Fin is seeking a Junior Infrastructure Engineer to join our IT/Engineering team and help support, maintain, and improve our infrastructure environment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their career who’s eager to learn, build hands-on experience, and grow into a well-rounded infrastructure or cloud engineer.

You’ll work closely with senior engineers to keep systems reliable, secure, and scalable while learning best practices across on-prem and cloud environments

Location: Trivandrum

Employment Type: Full-time

Experience Level: Entry-level / 0–2 years

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining and monitoring infrastructure systems (servers, networks, storage, and cloud resources)
• Support deployment, configuration, and patching of infrastructure components
• Help troubleshoot system, network, and performance issues
• Perform routine system checks, backups, and maintenance tasks
• Document infrastructure configurations, procedures, and changes
• Assist with user access management, security controls, and compliance tasks
• Participate in incident response and root cause analysis
• Collaborate with DevOps, security, and application teams as needed

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
• Basic understanding of operating systems (Linux and/or Windows Server)
• Fundamental knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, firewalls)
• Familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, or similar)
• Basic scripting or automation skills (Bash, PowerShell, or Python)
• Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn
• Good communication and documentation skills

Preferred Skills

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation)
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines or DevOps concepts
• Experience with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, etc.)
• Relevant certifications (AWS Cloud Practitioner, Azure Fundamentals, CompTIA Network+, etc.)
